Dental Examinations

During your check-up, your dentist will examine your teeth and gums and advise you on how to keep your mouth healthy. An X-ray during your examination may be necessary. Please take this opportunity to discuss any problems you have been experiencing with your dentist as they will be able to advise you on which of our many treatments are the most suitable to rectify any problems. To maintain excellent oral health, it is important to book regular dental check-ups.

Fluoride Varnish and Fissure Sealant

Fluoride varnish gel and sealants provide additional protection for your teeth against decay. Fissure sealants are simple and easy to apply to the back teeth where bacteria often gets stuck. We recommend that resin-based sealants are applied to kids’ permanent molars as soon as possible following eruption.

Fillings, Inlays, Overlays

Fillings are used to repair holes in teeth caused by decay. Amalgam is the most common type of filling material. Inlays and overlays are an alternative to fillings, and they tend to be more suitable for molars. They often last a lot longer than regular fillings. Your dentist will suggest the most appropriate type of filling according to your clinical needs.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canal treatments deal with infection at the core of the tooth (the root canal system). Successful root canal treatments, if carried out early, can prevent an infected tooth from having to be extracted. During this treatment, your dentist will remove the infection from inside the root system and fill the canal. The tooth is then sealed with a crown or filling to prevent it from becoming infected again.

Removing Teeth

Occasionally, we are unable to repair a badly damaged or decayed tooth, which means that we may need to extract it under local anaesthetic.

Crowns

A crown completely covers a real tooth that is damaged or decayed and are used to improve the appearance of your tooth. Most commonly made from metal, or porcelain and metal, crowns are one of the most effective treatments available for damaged teeth. After creating your custom-made crown at the lab, we will then firmly secure it in your mouth.

Dentures

False teeth or dentures are fitted to replace natural teeth. You may need a full set or a part set to replace one or more missing teeth. Custom-made to your mouth using impressions from your gums, dentures are easy to clean, and are comfortable. Moreover, with some part dentures, you can brush them at the same time as brushing your own real teeth.

It is important to have dentures fitted when you lose your natural teeth as otherwise, you may experience sagging facial muscles and difficulty when chewing.

Bridges

Unlike a denture, a bridge is a fixed replacement for a missing tooth or teeth. Your existing teeth are used to support the bridge. The bridge is custom-made to perfectly fit your mouth by taking an impression.
