Tooth whitening is a cosmetic treatment involving bleaching the teeth to a lighter shade. Your dentist takes an impression of your teeth and sends them to the lab to be made into a mouthguard. You will receive full instructions with your teeth whitening, and top up treatments are available.
White bonded composite fillings mimic the actual colour of the natural teeth. Composites are very durable, aesthetically pleasing and are used to fill cavities in teeth.
Teeth can be straightened and aligned with braces. Often referred to as invisible braces, Invisalign braces are one of our most effective and sought-after treatments. They have the advantage of being virtually invisible when you speak or smile. Invisalign braces are simply a set of custom-made invisible aligners, which straighten the teeth over time.
An alternative system of clear bracing.
This intensive treatment removes persistent staining from the front and back of the teeth by using a fine jet of compressed air, water and fine powder to effectively remove stains caused by smoking, coffee, tea and red wine.
Porcelain veneers are made of very thin tooth-coloured materials and are used to cover the front surfaces of the teeth. Porcelain veneers are aesthetically pleasing and can be used to mask stained and discoloured teeth, chipped and worn teeth, and misaligned teeth. Porcelain veneers can also be used to minimise the space between teeth.
Teeth grinding can be treated by the regular use of acrylic mouth splints to avoid wear to teeth. The splint is extremely durable and custom-made to create a barrier between the upper and the lower teeth. Generic splints bought directly from a retailer will rarely fit correctly and can cause more damage.
This is carried out by a dentist or more commonly, a dental hygienist. The hard plaque that can form around the gum line of teeth is removed using an ultrasonic cleaner, and then the teeth are polished with a special toothpaste-like material.
You can choose from a variety of materials for your highly customised or partial dentures. Private dentures/bridges tend to be more realistic and durable than NHS alternatives.
Private cosmetic crowns have a metal-free, white inner core that is made from zirconia with porcelain wrapped over this. Zirconia is an extremely hard material and gives the crown strength whilst still allowing the dental crown to transmit and reflect light, which gives a more natural appearance. It is possible to have cosmetic crowns made to a bespoke shade so that they match your other teeth perfectly.
